I used to have a white no entry sign displayed in the center of my inbox (also didn't know what that meant) but today it changed to the caution symbol. This yellow exclamation mark means that you upgraded your Reminders database to the new format Apple is using for iOS 13. This makes iCloud reminders disappear entirely on Mac because it takes them off the iCloud CalDAV server and moves them to the new iCloud reminders format. If you use another app to manage photos, export the ones you want to use into a folder and fire up iPhoto—this will consume a little extra hard drive space, but the calendar’s worth it.
We all know that the Apple Watch can be problematic sometimes, but most issues can be fix using generic solutions such as quick restart, factory reset, and unpairing. However, I recently came across something more complicated than an app crashing while being used.
That is my Apple Watch screen now showing a red exclamation point, and it’s not going away despite me trying to fix it manually. This happens yesterday while I was trying to update to the new watchOS 4 beta 3. I know what you’re thinking, it’s in beta for a reason why would you get the new firmware? Well, I did it for none of the reason than for testing purposes.
I should warn you that the red exclamation point can also appear on your Apple Watch as well, despite the watchOS version it’s on. Some people are using a stable watchOS 3 firmware yet they still get stuck on this screen.
After digging around the Apple forums, I was able to come up with a few solutions on how to fix this.
If your Apple Watch is showing a red exclamation mark with the text that says, “www.apple.com/help/contact.” Then read some of the tips below.
How to Fix Red Exclamation Point on Apple Watch Screen
The first thing we’re going to do is force restarting your Apple Watch. This can be done by:
- Press and hold the Digital Crown and side button simultaneously
- Keep holding for 10 seconds
- You will see an Apple logo
If that doesn’t work, it’s time to send your watch to Apple. As recommended by the URL shown with the error on your Apple Watch, you will need to contact the company for further assistant.
I got in touch with Apple Support team, sent in my watch, and they replaced it with a new one. It may work differently for you depending on your country or where the Apple Watch was originally purchased. So far, I found that most people were able to get a replacement if their watch is showing a red exclamation mark. Again, this error can popup at any time and any given moment.
Here’s a list of events that I gathered from popular discussions regarding this error. Some users got their Apple Watch stuck on the red (!) screen just by doing the following:
- trying to do a software update
- hard reboot
